Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that encourages collagen production. It’s a great solution if you’re looking to reduce the appearance of acne scars and signs of aging.
If you suffer from certain skin conditions and you’re in good health, but haven’t responded to other dermatologic procedures, microneedling could be for you.
Microneedling involves pricking the skin with 12-36 tiny sterilized needles. This creates small wounds cause your body to make more collagen and elastin, which heal your skin and help you look younger. This cosmetic practice can be used to treat a number of skin issues.
At the Skintechnician this treatment takes approximately 45 minutes. What should you expect?First your skin will be cleansed, followed by a numbing cream being applied so you can’t feel the needle pricks. Then the technician will glide a pen with tiny sterilized needles across the skin several times, followed by an application of SPF.
Most people get microneedling on the face, but it can also done on other parts of the body, such as your stomach or thighs. The goal of the procedure is to start your body’s healing process by sending collagen and elastin to patch up the tiny injuries. Collagen helps fill in and smooth out wrinkles.
Post care mini kit provided for all needling services. Needling services include the face.

By providing this service at an affordable price, clients are able to afford the homecare they need to maximize results and continue with the number of treatments needed.
Clients typically notice an immediate glow or tightening, but visible improvement will take about 2-4 weeks and can continue for up to 6 months for maximum improvement.
A series of 3-6 is usually recommended to achieve the desired goal as with any corrective treatment. You can generally have it performed every four to six weeks, although this may vary slightly from person to person. We don’t recommend coming in sooner than four weeks as your skin may still be in the recovery phase. We are happy to discuss the best approach for your specific goals during your initial microneedling appointment.
You should avoid wearing makeup, at least for the remainder of the day following the microneedling procedure. Allowing the channels an opportunity to fully close and avoid the possibility of any contaminants entering the skin. We recommend waiting at least three days before wearing any makeup. Planning your procedure will ensure you are prepared for a few make up free days allowing the appropriate amount of time to heal.
Yes, there are multiple types of microneedling which include mechanical, fractional radio-frequency, and microneedling with PRP. At the Skintechnician we offer mechanical microneedling. Mechanical microneedling uses a motorized pen with tiny slender needles to create thousands of channels that are up to 0.3 millimeters deep. These channels disrupt photo-aged, wrinkled, or scarred tissue to allow for remodeling of new skin to occur. This type of microneedling creates the most channels per square inch of skin. Because of this, patients can experience a mild amount of bleeding and redness. This is the most popular type of microneedling because it is both relatively economical and it is an excellent maintenance treatment for delaying the aging process.
Individuals desiring to correct wrinkles or scarring. Individuals looking to lighten brown pigmentation. People with crows feet, forehead lines, or lip lines, people with body scars or acne scars.
Usually, you should expect some redness of the skin for a few hours. Minimal swelling or dryness could occur.
